The #lipsfiller is by far one of the most requested treatments by people of all ages. Nowadays it is cleared as a minimally invasive practice to accentuate the softness and sensuality of the look or to correct defects.
What is not often talked about is: how do lips heal once the treatment is done?
There is a first major distinction: #needle or #cannula. In the case of the cannula, healing is very rapid because there are no bruises or swelling. The final result can already be appreciated the next day.
Cannula
Micro Needle
In the case of needle treatment, healing takes a little longer, but it is often necessary when there are asymmetries or very thin lips. My technique involves vertical injections with a micro needle, so that the lip is not everted (no duck face) but only rises vertically, resulting in maximum volumization and definition of the lip.
Let's see together the steps of healing in a week after treatment.
Immediately after treatment, the lip is already volumized and defined, with little swelling. Small bruises can be seen forming. The filler contains lidocaine so the area is completely numb and will not cause any discomfort during healing.
The first day is characterized by marked swelling, particularly in the morning, which recedes during the day. You may feel pain in the lip. small bruises begin to form.
On the second day, the swelling decreases, appearing only occasionally. Even the discomfort is gone and the patient begins to get used to the new lips. The formation of dark bruises begins. The shape becomes more defined.
On the third day there is the maximum extension of the dark bruises, which will begin to diminish the following day. The definition of the contour can be seen very well, the swelling has almost disappeared.
On the fourth day the bruises are discolored, the lips are deflated, with a beautiful natural and defined shape.
On the fifth day it can be observed that even laterally the swelling has disappeared, the lips are very defined but natural.
On the sixth day, the result is stabilized. Swelling and bruises are now a memory, the lip is super defined, but soft and natural. The patient is delighted with the lips 🥰
